A story about a bus journey. Just fantastic film making, and an outstandingly magnificent performance by Timothy Spall.
Nothing happens. Just this journey interspersed with flashbacks as to why he is making it.
You may need tissues handy.
Plot summary
A heart-warming tale of Tom (Timothy Spall), a pensioner whose wife, Mary (Phyllis Logan), has just passed away, who travels from Britain's most northerly point, John O'Groats, to his original home town at its most southerly point, Land's End, using his free bus pass. He carries with him only a small suitcase, travelling the length of the country with it. Along the way, his adventures are recorded by the people he meets and helps, and by the end of his trip he has unwittingly become a social media celebrity.

Classy film making
Nicely produced movie but ...
... the story of this tenacious old man on his journey to the most southern tip of Britian is ruined by scenes of melodrama and sentimental glop.
I stuck with the movie beause I wanted to see how his journey would conclude. It's most predictable and the story just ends.
This little movie is very watchable and you do get emotionaly involved with the old man and how he will reach his destination.
OAP Love Story. Predictable, but Oscar wordy.
Very enjoyable movie on numerous levels. Timothy Sphall is brilliant. Very predictable in parts and over acted, but it hits the spot.
Oscar worthy from how it's effects people emotionally.
Such a beautiful movie. Treat people the way you want to be treated one day when your old & fragile. There are still good people out there! Maybe still some hope.
Thank you for this lovely gem :-)
In Timothy Spall we trust
Thanks FREEMAN
