Warm, honest look at the life of a teen rock star in Australia as he grows up
I saw this documentary on a Virgin Atlantic flight. I had never heard of Ben Lee but I saw that the film contained appearances by Claire Danes, Winona Ryder and Jason Schwartzman so I thought i would check it out. Ben Lee is truly himself in this movie and it is enlightening to see what makes him tick. It also has a number of themes that resonated uniquely with me. He grew up Jewish in Australia and then migrates towards a belief in Hinduism. Even though I am of the generation before Ben, my formative years were crafted by that particular trinity of Australia, Judaism and eastern religion
It is interesting to listen to Claire Danes talk about how she met Ben and their infatuation and the relationship Ben has with the world of pop culture. The film is quite a useful way to spend a couple of hours learning new things about the entertainment industry
