TV movie with badly hidden normative values

Standard run of the mill "Texan" movie, the lead overacts arrogant and lovely which makes a mockery out of it (annoyed she isn't getting larger roles?) while all except two other roles are underperformed; Carolyn McCormick (Grace/mother of lead) and Michael Rose (the family lawyer). There will be a twist or two, but because the acting is so over the top it's semi exposed before it happens. The plot mostly keeps on familiar ground and uses themes that has been used over and over and over and over... ...again. Effects are low budget and the logical gaps of events are sometimes high. The camera work is somewhat decent at times and salvages some of the story. Using pauses or silence better could have resulted in a more suspensefilled atmosphere. If you are a young girl who likes horses, spends her time in a stable and likes mystery stories this might be a good watch. If else it might be worth multitasking to at best.

*Movie runining spoilers ahead A run of the mill regressive normative story, the helper did it! But wait, the ... did it - two flies at once. Much justification is spent on portraying shameful behaviour of the farm owners as correct and good, while none is put on or really explored into the perp or how that person was raised/the bonds that knit her to the family. Resulting in a very one sided story.

Watch it for the plot twist and the ending

Not bad, provided you have a few drinks while watching.

Look for:

1. The age difference between the mother and new husband. I've heard of May-December marriages, but this was May-Death (she really robbed the cradle).

2. The weird voyeurism - new stepdad strips to his undershorts with a woman watching (and door to his bedroom is open). Stepdad looking at his stepdaughter in bed with her hubby, again bedroom door is open. No explanation given for this.

3.The plot twist - just didn't expect it.

Again, just have the Gin, Vodka or whatever around and you'll enjoy it.

Whose your daddy now?

Mrs. Shullivan and I must have changed our minds several times each trying to determine who the mysterious assassin was. Similar to a good Agatha Christie mystery, this made for TV thriller did not disappoint. At one point or another almost every main character became a suspect so the plot was thicker than Dolly Parton's hairdo, and heavier than her two main assets.

There is a wealthy family whose patriarch died a few years ago so mom and daughter own the ranch equally. That is, until mom comes home unexpectedly re-married with her boy toy so suspicions arise as to what happens to the estate when accidents start occurring almost every second day.

This made for TV film is a cut above the normal ho hum whodunits so I am rewarding it with a 6 out of 10 IMDB rating.
