An intriguing film about a woman who has reappeared after a long and initially unexplained absence, and who is now disconnected from her husband, child and any expectations as to what a 'good mother' should be. The deep focus cinematography often positions its lead in the centre of an expansive widescreen shot, as isolated and independent as Varda's Vagabond. The plot keeps you interested for a while because you want to know what happened, but soon enough you realize it's not going to be very interesting to follow. That's to me a missed opportunity to make a good movie. Now you just get a well acted, I'll give them that, but in the end boring movie. I don't know any of the Polish actors but they were convincing. The cinematography was okay, but the story was pointless and not worth making a movie of it. I would pass on this one and watch something else if I were you.

Eliseo Montalbán is a young classical music composer. He created a play that, when performed, invariably ends up causing tragedy. On the day the song was played for the first time, the pianist died in the middle of the performance. He then decides to get rid of all traces of the work, becoming someone disturbed and haunted by a melody. Many years later, another person tries to revive the macabre composition: it is Ricardo Coppa, a mediocre and talentless musician who craves recognition and success. With other instrumentalists, he undertakes a journey in search of Montalbán and his forgotten musical creation with the aim of transforming it into his own composition.
