This movie rocked! Not only the kids acted great, but they were perfect for their roles: cute when they were playing it real, hard when they suffered and inspiring as rock singers. The film uses metal band shenanigans to tell the story of how young people feel and are treated by the world and how they treat each other, but it is never blunt or preachy and allows all characters to evolve. The more I think about the film, the more I like it.
Also, awesome song at the end. Not really a metal fan, but even if you don't enjoy the rest of the film that much, the ending song makes it worth it.

Plot summary
The only two kids who care about heavy metal in their high school want to form a heavy metal band but fail to find a bass player. They do, however, find a girl adept at cello. If these three can settle their differences, work together, and stay out of trouble, they could win the upcoming Battle of the Bands.

I Enjoyed It!!!
It was almost refreshing!!! A little quirky - but lots of fun. It's not really a children's movie - it's got some mature language and elements to it - but it's fun. It's actually a refreshing change from a lot of the normal dribble! I'm giving it high praise just for being fresh!

Even though not top notch production and the pitch of the plot and the knitting together of the whole productionsjalabaise feels a bit immature at moments. But the music is the drive, and loads of heavy riffs and raffs you get wether you like it or not, and the acts by the 3 mains are just as acustic as al di meolas guitarplay and andrew lloyd webbers celloloid and billy cobhams drumdrills, and it looks darn real for life.
So if you have a wet dream to start a grungerockband or maybe a bandaid or just want to make your own hardrock movie, then youll have something to learn from and try to peel away some of the glitches made in this production, cause the grumpy old man doesnt think its perfect, but its massivly beautiful anyway.
Now I get after watching 7 or more X. Harry Potter on Drums Steve Vai on Lead guitar Kirk Hammet on Cello : ). : ). : )

Well, I thought Joe's gonna handle some metal music but he didn't. It's ok, I enjoyed the movie. I just don't like the Devil worshipper things on bands trying to be metal. Good that Tom Morello, Scott Ian, Rob Halford and (?) made an appearance. So cool of them. I wonder why does GnR included in the soundtrack? Lords of Metal then I hear Guns n Roses song? I hope next time when you Titled your film Metal, just line up real metal bands for Ost and Not some OLD rock n Roll bands. I'm 54 and i still Love Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax ... And hope you include Tina S or Sophie Lloyd as female Metal Guitarist. They play better than some Metal Bands Lead guitars.
I want more Metal man! Tom Morello of Rage ATM, Rob Halford of Judas Priest, ... Shouldda brought in Dave Mustaine of Megadeth. Added guitar should be great like Tina S or Sophie Lloyd if you want a solid Metal. Fast and Dizzying metal guitars. There were drama moments but the end dismissed the dramas. Wish they played longer like two songs and not a short song. Metal fans would love to enjoy at least 15 minutes of Pure Metal even if the band isn't pro standards. I like the band, but I'd love to see them quartet with a female heavy metal guitarist. Tina S or Sophie Lloyd would be great!!!!! Is there a Part 2 where they'd win somewhere? And i hope they'd let Joe Manganiello play electric guitar too even if it's dubbed. Good movie... 7.5 or 8 for me. God Bless guys !!!!
