From Tyler-James (Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Chambers/Jeffreys), directed by Ben J. Williams and cinematography from Vince Knight all of whom were involved in Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey comes a film that with the inclusion of the name "Freddy" and animatronic looking killers is clearly trying to get an audience from Five Nights at Freddy's. Although the plot is completely different (this involves conjuring up monsters from an old book and giving them sacrifices). It probably would have been better to come up with a different name - as now comparisons will be drawn - with this film ultimately coming out the loser.

Some things work here and some do not. What doesn't work - Its very dark. As in, sometimes you literally can't see what's going on. It gets very dialogue heavy in parts and the storyline is basically spelled out, at length.

What does work - the killers/creatures are scary, particular the character of Freddy. The conjuring type action scenes are fun and some good practical gory death scenes. The climax of the film, while again really dark in places, is pretty decent with a good performance from Danielle Scott who I would label as a real scream queen. Jase Rivers is good as the creepy scumbag guy who lures the prostitutes and Matthew Baunsgard gives the whole thing a semblance of realism. Across the board all the victims who get killed give off a real sense of terror.

I would rate this a 5 but it has stayed with me more than I thought - so a small bump up for that.
